Hey there, I’m Rebecca!

Glad you are here! Welcome! I am the lead makeup artist and owner of REBECCA GAO MAKEUP ARTIST. I constantly travel between Atlanta and NYC, and anywhere where you need me to. If you are looking for a natural to a soft glam makeup look for your wedding, photoshoot, special events or any other purposes, you are at the right place. Soft, natural and diverse styles are what I am known for. In my philosophy, there is no one standard definition of beauty. Coming from an Asian background and spending the most important years in the U.S. grants me an integrated understanding of the aesthetics from different cultural backgrounds, which I utilize in quickly capturing my clients’ needs and realizing them in the makeup looks. I believe in enhancing your own features, not changing you to a different person. … My makeup stayed even after rain and a ton of sweaty dancing. She is so good at what she does, and she’s also the sweetest human ever!! My MIL doesn’t wear makeup, and she even asked for all the products Rebecca used the day after the wedding because she loved it so much. BOOK REBECCA!!

… Rebecca continues to astound me with her makeup skills. She’s done my make up on three occasions and is constantly learning and honing her craft. She’ll ask you details about the occasion, like your wedding colors or what outfit you’re wearing, your preferred every day make up style, where you’re going if it’s a special occasion, etc. and she’ll go above and beyond to accommodate you. In my case, I didn’t know what I wanted and she somehow got it right because she knows the right questions to ask. My wedding was destination and she flew to Mexico and managed to make sure my make up didn’t move (and I mean, zero movement) from the morning into the evening. I probably could’ve slept in it. She also did my mom’s makeup, my matron of honor and a bridesmaid, who all sung her praises, too. She’s also a ton of fun to work with and by the time you’re done, you may make a new friend! I’ll continue to go to her for my professional make up needs until the day she puts away her kit (hopefully, a very long time from now!)

… Not only is she extremely talented at her craft, she also listens to her clients’ input and has range in all looks, skin tones, and facial features. I went for a bolder, smoky bridal look and she executed perfectly. You will not regret using her services for whatever special event you may have!

As an Asian-American, it was important to me to find an artist who understood how to work with Asian features and styles, and I was so glad to have found Rebecca. She truly takes the time to understand what her clients want, every step of the way, while also helping clients achieve their ultimate vision/ideas for their special day. But more importantly, what I enjoyed most about Rebecca was her friendliness. Though Rebecca was super professional with her work, I also felt she was my friend, which alludes to how comfortable she made clients feel. We laughed and had such a great time together– it really made an already crazy day even better. I am already looking forward to hiring her for my next event!

…she was so reassuring, funny and sweet the whole day that I wasn’t worried at all. She knew exactly what we wanted and gave us all the perfect “natural but glam” makeup. My mom even raved multiple times about how much she loved her makeup – which is rare for her! Rebecca is an amazing makeup artist who truly knows what she’s doing. Rebecca did an amazing job. There was one point where I didn’t know how to elaborate my vision during the trial, and when I realized that the initial look wasn’t what I was going for, Rebecca was determined to get us there (and she did!). The final look was beautiful, and it lasted through MANY things which include…a peloton workout and eating hot spicy ramen noodle soup. Not once did I have to touch up my makeup during my wedding day even with all the crying and dancing. Rebecca is communicative, fun, and very talented. I couldn’t have asked for a better makeup artist!
